Cecily Carrillo

Hello! My name is Cecily, and I feel incredibly honoured to be a therapist. I am passionate about joining people on the journey to finding healing and wholeness. When we face difficulties along the way, whether "stuckness" in current circumstances, a challenging relationship, a broken childhood, or a traumatic incident(s), the impact is unique to each individual. Often feelings or pain can surface in a multitude of ways well after the incident or crisis is over, causing surprising or confusing reactions.

 

Therapy can be a space to create room to understand, heal, and move forward. Slowing down, being present, and gaining understanding of the past ‘story’ within one’s family, can be an empowering experience. It can help clients locate themselves within the bigger story and help them navigate where they want to go. 

 

Due to my own healing journey, I recognize that stepping into therapy can stir things up. I want to honour the struggle and courage it takes for each individual to work toward change and healing. I approach counseling from a nonjudgemental, trauma-informed, client-centered perspective, and strive to provide a safe space for all to be heard and experience change.

Cecily's clinical approach is trauma-informed with a family systems lens. Her work is informed by an Attachment lens (Neufeld Institute) along with Internal Family Systems (IFS), Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy, and somatic/body-based understanding.

Relationships, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, personal growth, life transitions, partners of those with sexual addiction-related issues, relationship health, and spiritual wellness.

 

Couples: premarital counselling, divorce discernment, communication problems, conflict resolution
