Meet Brandon

Brandon brings a warm, empathetic approach to the counselling process and believes that the best therapy takes place through a strong therapeutic relationship. He has experience working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma processing (including childhood abuse and sexual assault), relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and spirituality. He also works with couples to address relational conflict, marital difficulties, sexual issues, and learning communication skills. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys cycle-touring and running marathons with his wife.

Framework

Brandon uses an attachment, trauma-informed lens to identify how past experiences might be affecting present relationships. His work is highly relational and experiential, meaning that the healing process is co-created between therapist and client.  Therapy is more than just receiving good advice; it is healing though a new experience of acceptance, validation, and feeling seen. Working with the emotions and memories that surface in session can bring transformation and provide clients with greater understanding of themselves.

Education

Brandon completed a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MA) and is registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCC). He has additional training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Existential Analysis.

Brandon brings an open, non-judgmental presence to the therapy room which allows clients to show up as they are. He believes it is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they seek to heal and make changes.
