Meet Graeme

Graeme believes that we are all the expert on our own experiences; no one else can tell you what you’ve been through, or what it meant to you. Sometimes we just need a little help in figuring out how to construct our own narrative of our lives, and use it to move forward.

Graeme is driven by a passion for empowering individuals to direct their own lives with freedom and purpose. He believes that the best way to help clients achieve that is to encounter them with warmth, empathy, and acceptance—to meet you as a fellow human being, and to join alongside as you work through the challenges of life. He has experience working with clients on a wide range of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma processing, spiritual concerns, and identity formation. He works primarily with adult individuals of all ages. When not at work, Graeme can be found practicing his slices in tennis, or enjoying a movie with his partner.

Framework

Graeme operates from a rogerian person-centered framework, which understands that clients
are the ultimate expert in their own experiences, and emphasizes the counsellor’s role in
creating an accepting and compassionate environment. It also suggests that how we show up to
session together is often just as therapeutic as what we talk about, a principle that Graeme
embodies in his therapy. He also uses principles from an internal family systems model to help
clients shift their relationship with themselves to become more constructive, which can be
especially helpful for clients dealing with trauma symptoms.

Education

Graeme became a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical
Counsellors, after he completed his Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MA). He also
holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Graeme has 3 years of experience seeing clients as an intern and clinical fellow, addressing
many kinds of concerns and symptoms. He feels that it is a privilege to join clients on their
journey.
